About Network Statement

Network Statement is Bane NOR's description of the infrastructure and the terms and conditions for applying for track access to the railway network. In addition, it contains information about capacity allocation and deadlines, services, and the pricing system. The primary target audience for the Network Statement is railway undertakings, other applicants, and timetable planners.

The requirement for a Network Statement is stipulated in the Railway Regulations § 5-1. The document ensures that all operators on the railway network, as well as other stakeholders, receive the same transparent information about the infrastructure to guarantee non-discriminatory access to the infrastructure and services in the service facilities.

Structure

The structure of the Network Statement follows the template from RailNetEurope. The main document consists of seven parts, each comprising several chapters. Supplementary information, or information that needs to be updated outside the set times, is provided as appendices.

Quality and Updates

The main document is updated between May and November, while the appendices are updated as needed. Changes made to a published main document will be documented in the change log.

Data in the appendices about the infrastructure is extracted from BaneData/Maximo.
